Vintage Modern Glam
Style MixÂ
Thank you for taking the quiz! I think we can agree that quizzes are fun, right? However, as a designer I have learned that most people can not be put in an exact “style box”. I love working with clients to dive deep and figure out all the little things that add up to create their unique style. So, maybe the style results below are totally you but chances are you like some of it but maybe not all of it. My goal as a designer is to sort through all your options and create a look that feels just like you!
If Vintage Modern Glam is your style mix: You like to think of your home as a back drop for living your best life. You have a great sense of fashion and love that your home sets a stage for your outfits. You want your home to have flair and spark conversation. Contrast is key for the sense of drama you crave. You love the contrast between ornate antiques and pieces with sleek modern lines that create a wonderful visual tension. Mixing materials and textures, like a sleek modern metal chandelier with a 100 year old carved dining table or a large crystal chandelier with a rustic farm table…the mix makes your heart sing. Most rooms in your house have an interesting light fixture, or two…and they must have dimmers for ambiance. Over-size elements that make a statement are key: huge art, over-scaled sofas and mirrors. Although you know you should be practical, sometimes beauty wins over function. An unexpected piece of sculpture punctuating the corner of the living room adds the element of surprise you love. Brass (aged or shiny) gold and chrom add sparkle. Entertaining comes naturally to you and you like to impress your guests with a signature cocktail on a silver tray or a buffet table with flowers and stacks of glimmering pillar candles. Color is also important. An ideal room could be mostly whites and pops of dark or you might see vivid color in art, rugs, and fabrics that give you a classy artistic vibe. Antiques are often painted or re-upholstered in unexpected or modern fabrics. To you, life is art!Â
