Let’s Make Your Custom Home Dreams Come True

You probably started off feeling pretty confident about what you like and thought you could pull it all together without an interior designer.

Now, you are beginning to see all that is involved. So many interlocking parts! This is going to cost a chunk of change and you want to make sure you are on the right path with a plan in place.

Wouldn’t it be great to work with someone creative that can take your project to the next level? Someone with a wealth of design experience — a good listener who can bounce ideas off of — who can make your vision come to life?

If the answer to the above is “Yes!”, then I am here to help!

I am here to help you create a home that is uniquely yours. I will help you think outside of the box and with small changes we will create something beyond the standard builder home design.

I am not just here for the pretty stuff. I am the person who will help you communicate your design desires to your project manager.

Out of the entire building process, from start to finish, my absolute favorite part was working with Claudia. She is worth every penny and helped save us so much money, time, headache and stress!

Designing a custom home can be enjoyable and stress free!

You might still be on the fence about spending money on an interior designer.

Building a custom home for most people is a once in a lifetime experience, let’s do it right! I have seen first-hand what can happen when an interior designer isn’t involved. Things like odd tile combinations, strange placement of windows, trim details that don’t line up. It is sad to see a home that looks OK but could have been great with more planning. The sad thing is, the total cost of fixing mistakes almost always ends up being more than the price of what would have been spent on my services in the first place. Please don’t count on your subcontractors to help you make design decisions.

Claudia took the time to meet with us on at least a dozen occasions at the job site and at various vendors to discuss the build and how the choice of materials and colors would ultimately look in the house.  Claudia saved us a ton of time by pulling everything together in an easy to assimilate format.  Claudia is also very responsive and gives you her undivided attention. Quite honestly, we felt like we were her only clients throughout the process, even though we knew we weren’t.

For Custom Homes, I work with a package system. This is how I can offer you the most value, rather than tracking individual hours. If you need some services but not others, send me an email and I will create a custom priced package for you.

Silver Package

This package takes place during the architectural drawing phase. I will work with you and the architect or builder to make sure the house plans have the design elements you want.

Initial Consultation ~ We plan to chat on the phone about your new house.  Before this meeting, I will send you a design questionnaire to find out about your needs and goals for the look and feel of your new home.

Design Concept ~ I will pull together your ideas for the house and your inspiration photos to develop an overall “look” for your home. This is perfect to get you off on the right foot – it does not include specific selections of products and materials – for expanded service that includes interior design selections, please see package 3.

Floor Plan Design Collaboration with Architect / Builder  ~  I will work with you and the architect to develop an ideal plan that is functional but also incorporates design details that you want.  I will use my years of space planning experience and design creativity to develop an ideal floor plan.   I will point out elements you might not be aware of by sketching elevations, checking measurements, looking at windows sizes and locations, door swings and sizes, header heights, etc. We will talk about certain furniture you hope to buy or bring with you and make sure that these pieces fit. Planning for furniture is a step often overlooked but very important. We will tweak the plan to make it perfect for how you live and how you want it to look.

~Granite/Stone Showroom: I will go with you to select stone for counters in kitchen and master bathroom, Hall Bath and Powder Room. This package includes up to two “stone showroom” visits.

~Hardwood: I will help select the stain color for any refinished wood floors and new wood floors. This package includes one visit to hardwood floor showroom of your choice.

~Tile: I will go with you to a tile showroom to choose tile for kitchen, hall bath, master bath and powder room. I recommend choosing tile from a showroom rather than Lowe’s or Home Depot since the quality and color is more consistent.

~Interior Hardware: I will help you finalize your selections for finishes for interior hardware: cabinet and interior doorknobs, towels bars, closet shelving, glass shower doors, etc. This would typically be a meeting at Hardware Showroom of builder’s recommendation.

Note: Additional Site and Showroom visits available at my hourly rate.

There is no doubt about it, the best results are when we work together on the project as a whole. I have heard many times from clients, “I wish I had called you sooner.” or “I wish I had talked to you before I made that decision.”

What are the next steps?

Step One

We schedule a complimentary 15 minute Discovery Call to discuss your new custom home, time frame for build, etc. and if you are ready, schedule a time for our first meeting.

Step Two

After our phone chat, I will send you a Design Questionnaire to fill out that also has space to upload a pdf of your builder plans – if available. We will also connect on Pinterest so I can see what you like.

Step Three

Before the visit, I will send you an invoice for our first meeting that can be paid with credit card or check.

Step Four

We have our initial meeting (one hour), probably at a local coffee shop. During this meeting we can discuss the architectural plans and ideas for your home, how my process works and which Custom Home Package is the best fit for you.

Please Note: The initial meeting is a flat fee  and can be applied towards the purchase of a Custom Home Package.

Then What?

If you decide you would to bring me on board for your custom home project, I will send you an Agreement to sign and an invoice to purchase your Custom Home Package. Then the design process for your new custom home begins! Exciting!
